Alexandra Culley, Director of 5energies©, is an experienced, registered Speech Pathologist who has worked in government and private practice in the NT and Queensland and with:
- A passion for the empowerment of parents and families and sharing information with teachers in a productive exchange to benefit learners;
- Extensive experience with urban and remote clients with speech, oral language and literacy delays and challenges;
- A reputation as a practitioner of excellence and one who values working as part of a team to assist children;
- Specialisation in Oral Language, Phonological Awareness and Literacy, and a key role in the Gateways to Literacy Project (NT);
- Author and sole publisher of Hidden Language of Stories© (republication in late 2008);
- Experienced presenter at national conferences (Speech Pathology Australia and Australian Association of Special Education) and keynote speaker at Catholic Education Conference (2002); and
- Collaboration skills with musicians, entertainers and film-makers to develop effective multi-media resources.
Nancy Batenburg, Director of 5energies©, is an experienced, registered primary teacher with:
- A strong belief in the potential of new beginnings, new partnerships and new synergies to assist children with learning delays;
- Many years experience in remote and urban classrooms and schools, with specialisation in integrated curriculum and multi-age classes;
- Direct experience in the development and facilitation of creative, collaborative and effective learning communities to assist children to learn in a supportive environment;
- Coordination and facilitation skills of significant literacy projects such as Gateways to Literacy: 1999 National Literacy and Numeracy winner (NT);
- Five years as Project Manager in a curriculum team, facilitating change and assisting teachers with effective and realistic assessment, programming, planning and teaching strategies;
- Experience in facilitation and presentation of professional development, learning and change management at a school and regional level;
- Accredited school trainer in Tribes TLC™: A New Way of Learning and Being www.tribes.com;
- Registration as a Triple P™ provider; and
- A PhD candidate through QUT Kelvin Grove: Telling Tales and Painting Pictures: A narrative inquiry into the professional learning of classroom teachers
